Paraprobiotics and probiotics: different and complementary
One is alive and the other is not. Every other difference follows from that: antibiotics, stomach pH and the fridge.

Paraprobiotics are obtained from probiotics but, once inactivated, they behave differently. These are the main differences:
| Probiotic | Paraprobiotic | |
|---|---|---|
| Is it alive? | Yes | No: it is inactivated and cannot multiply |
| Is it affected by antibiotics? | It can be | No, because it is not alive |
| Does it depend on stomach pH? | Its survival does | No: its action does not depend on viability |
| Does it need to be kept cold? | Some do | No, it keeps at room temperature |
Why it is not alive
They are obtained by putting probiotics through physical inactivation processes such as heat, pressure, radiation or ultrasound. They lose the ability to replicate but keep the cell structures and functional components able to interact with the human body.
Because of the way they are obtained, our paraprobiotics are compatible with any treatment.
